The former bodyguard of Kanye West has revealed the extent of his diva behaviour in an interview, shortly after he was reportedly fired for simply talking to West’s wife, Kim Kardashian.
Steve Stanulis opened up to The Sun about what he went through working with his former boss, Kanye West.
“It is his world and everyone just exists within it. I don’t know how Kim stays married to him,” he said “I had to look after his toddler daughter once and it was so much easier than babysitting the father. He’s 10 times worse than what you see.”
Kanye West has been a permanent fixture and highlight on social media for his epic rants, often spiralling out of control in a torrent of words.
“I was amazed by the amount of bizarre behaviour I saw in just two weeks. Imagine what must go on over a year,” Stanulis continued.
The bodyguard also revealed that “You just never knew what would trigger a meltdown.” And according to Stanulis, one of the strangest behaviours of Kanye West is his refusal to press his own elevator buttons and his insistence that his security staff wear all black, because “patterns distract him.”
“On the first day, we headed to his music studio. When we got into the elevator Kanye just stood there with his arms folded and said, ‘Aren’t you going to press the button?’” Stanulis recalled.
“I didn’t see them acting lovey-dovey or do anything of that nature,” Stanulis told the magazine. “Kim was different around him. For lack of a better example, have you every had one of your girlfriends be an awesome party girl, a lot of fun, but all of a sudden she gets a guy and… she’s a different person?”
West made headlines again earlier this week when he delivered an eight-minute-long rant on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show,” talking about everything from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to his ideas on how to make human civilisation great.
