Kelly Clarkson attacks Lukasz Gottwald (Dr Luke) in an interview with Kyle and Jackie O. Clarkson is one of the high-profile artists who worked with Dr Luke.
Dr Luke is engaged in a legal battle with “Tik Tok” singer Kesha. The latter claims to have been sexually and emotionally assaulted by the producer.
USA Today reports that Clarkson mentions Dr Luke lied frequently to her when they were working together. Detailing experiences with him, Clarkson claims he can be demeaning. The site also mentions how Kesha’s fans are awaiting stories from other artists who have worked with Dr Luke to recount how he mistreated them.
“I think her fans are wanting a lot of artists that have worked with him before that don’t work with him anymore [to walk about him] for pretty good solid reasons. He’s not a good person to me,” Clarkson said. She added, “We’ve clashed. But I can remark on his character and unfortunately when you have that poor of character, like so many artists don’t like you, don’t like working with you, that’s not normal… he’s just not a good guy for me, to me.”
News.com.au also reported on Clarkson stepping in to defend Kesha. According to the site, Clarkson initially didn’t want to work with Dr Luke. The former American Idol star claims she was blackmailed and forced to do so. Clarkson explains how the label company threatened to not release her album if she didn’t agree to work with Dr Luke.
Dr Luke co-wrote and co-produced one of Clarkson’s biggest hits, “Since You’ve Been Gone.”
A judge ruled that Kesha would not be able to exit her contract with the record company despite the former’s claim that her producer sexually assaulted her. Stars have vocally expressed their support for the artist. Demi Lovato, Lady Gaga, Lorde, Ariana Grande and now Clarkson have all offered support. Taylor Swift even gave Kesha $250,000 for legal costs.
Since the ruling, Dr Luke has come out on social media by posting pictures of him and Kesha.
