Justin Bieber clashed with the “Today Show’s” cameraman after the singer complained that the crew was on his way while he was trying to show off his dance moves.
According to Toronto Sun, after Justin sang his new single “What Do You Mean?”, he confronted one cameraman for shooting to close to his face during an outdoor performance in New York City.
Bieber can be heard saying in the video, “Next time I won’t dance because the camera’s here the whole time. Might as well not dance. What do I do this for if they’re just gonna…”, before he was cut off to a commercial.
The issue appeared to have been resolved when the show came back on and Justin sang his other hit songs “Where Are U Now,” “Boyfriend” and an acoustic version of “Baby” that made his fans wild.
Hollywood Life reported the singer freaked out because he wants to make his every performance perfect.
The site quoted a source saying, “This has been a big comeback for Justin and he’s clearly very emotional … His adrenaline is pumping when he’s on stage and he really gives it his all. He just wants everything to be perfect. Whether he’s crying or snapping after a performance it’s only because he cares so much.”
“He’s upset that the producers kept the cameras running to film that. He’s also embarrassed and really hopes something like this won’t undo all the hard work he’s put in to rehabilitating his image and career,” the source added.
Justin also admitted to “Today’s” hosts that he is amazed at the acceptance he has been receiving after his emotional performance at the recent 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.
“It’s not like that’s where I get my validation, but it just shows that they’re for me and not against me. You always go in this situation, especially for me now I just feel judged, and it’s hard but I’m feeling more confident now,” he said.
E! Online noted that Justin fans kept screaming “Bieber’s back” throughout his performances, but the 21-year-old singer clarified that he never abandoned singing.
“I never left, but I took some time to just do some soul searching for sure,” he said.
