The battle between Justin Bieber and One Direction might have been decided. JB’s “Purpose” reportedly claims the top at the Billboard 200 and beats 1D’s “Made in the AM.”
This might be a sweet victory not just for Justin but for his Beliebers as well. His 4th full length album is expected to have 425-450,000 in U.S. sales as compared to One Direction’s 400,000-425,000 upon its first week of debut, notes Hits Daily Double.
Aside from that, music experts also believe that JB’s new album can surpass his best 374,000 sales for “Believe.”
Should the number of sales and streams continue to skyrocket in the coming days, his album can also be hailed not just being No.1 in the Billboard 200, but as 2015’s “best selling album first week debut” as well, according to Inquistr.
Noted that the Canadian singer’s new album has been reigning at the top on iTunes in 53 countries, including the U.S., and other major markets. One the other hand, the UK boy band has been predicted at No. 2.
The overall sales will be totaled in the next four days, so fans can still be passionate in buying and downloading either JB’s or 1D’s album. Currently holding the baton is Drake’s “If You Are Reading This It’s Too Late” with 535,000 units.
However, Inquistr hinted that JB’s victory will only be short- lived, as Adele’s “25” is on its way.
The highly anticipated release of her new album is set to be on Nov. 20 and is expected to sell more than a million copies in it’s first week debut.
Their battle is getting fierce as well as Bieber’s hit single “Sorry” is currently at No. 2 on iTunes Single Sales Chart, just behind Adele. Meanwhile, his another single “What Do You Mean,” is at the fifth spot.
Beliebers could keep their fingers crossed and see if Justin Bieber will be crowned at the top.
