Jordan Brand is releasing one of its newest basketball masterpieces — the Jordan Superfly 4. The new basketball shoe will officially drop in stores tomorrow in the US, and will come in three unique colorways. One of the most awaited though is the “Marvin the Martian” colorway.
The Jordan Superfly 4 offers “Pinnacle Performance Built for Power and Speed”, notes Nike. The shoe offers an external TPU heel counter that adds support and stability, webbed straps intergrated to the laces for lockdown, and FlightSpeed technology that boosts energy to elevate the game.
Together with the shoe release is the launch of the “Marvin the Martian” colorway. Following previous Jordan sneakers that feature the Looney Tunes character, the Jordan Superfly 4 “Marvin the Martian” features the official colors “Black/ Bright Crimson- Electric Green”.
“Marvin the Martian is out to destroy Earth again, and with the release of the Super.Fly 4, he may have finally found his secret weapon,” Nike wrote.
“After learning about the Super.Fly 4’s FlightSpeed technology for explosive liftoff, Marvin believes it has enough power to obliterate other worlds. His quest for the Super.Fly 4 won’t be easy though, as he must get past Blake Griffin to get the power to destroy Planet Earth.”
According to Bleacher Report, Marvin the Martian has been a staple character in the Jordan Brand shoe collection.
“The biggest reason Marvin is the dopest of dope, however, is because he wore kicks…Marvin was rocking Jordans 15 years before Michael Jordan was even born,” the site noted.
Aside from the Looney Tunes colorway, a fuschia version of the pair will also be released. It will have official colors Bordeaux/ White-Fuschia Flash/ Infrared 23. A Black and Red pair will also drop in stores.
The Jordan Superfly 4 will drop in all Nike outlets on August 5 with a price tag of $150.
