Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have found themselves in the middle of a nasty divorce amid claims of abuse. Now, the Pirates of the Caribbean star’s ex, Vanessa Paradis, is backing up her former partner.
The actor and the French actress have been in a long-term relationship until they split in 2012. They have two kids –Jack, 14, and Lily-Rose, 17.
In an open letter dated May 27 obtained by TMZ, Vanessa Paradis called Amber Heard’s allegations against Johnny Depp as “outrageous.” She went on to say that the actor is a “sensitive, loving and loved person.”
“In all the years I have known Johnny, he has never been physically abusive with me and this looks nothing like the man I lived with for 14 wonderful years,” she wrote.
Despite Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s divorce, the actor seems to have found allies in his former partners. Earlier, his ex-wife Lori Anne Wilson also denied he is a woman-beater.
She and the actor were married for two years, from 1983 to 1985.
According to another report from TMZ, Wilson has been telling friends that she does not believe the Magic Mike XXL actress’ claims of abuse. She is also saying that the actor “never got physical with her during their relationship.”
The former husband-and-wife have maintained their friendship despite the divorce. She even recently spoke to him to offer condolences after the actor’s mother died.
Meanwhile, a smiling Amber Heard was spotted outside the office of her attorneys. Mail Online published photos of the actress in a jovial mood after her four-hour meeting with the lawyers. She was holding on to her laptop in one hand while the other was wrapped around the shoulders of a female companion.
In the divorce filing, Amber Heard claimed Johnny Depp “terrorised” her “physically and emotionally” during their 15-month marriage.
