Keanu Reeves starrer John Wick: Chapter 2 is being directed by Chad Stahelski. The movie was shrouded in secrecy for some time now. However, an official synopsis revealed by Lionsgate reveals that the film will be set in Rome and will see Reeves pitted against some deadly foes.

John Wick: Chapter 2 will hit the screens in February next year and sees Keanu Reeves as John Wick forced out of retirement to help a former associate. Collider reveals that the former associate will be planning to take control of a shadowy international assassins’ guild. Reeves’ Wick would be bound by blood oath to help. He will be seen travelling to Rome to fight off some of the deadliest killers in the world.

According to Slash Film, it would be interesting to see Reeves being pulled into a shady criminal universe which featured in the first part. The Universe has its own currency, its own structure and strict rules which result in a swift death, if violated. While the original cast will reprise their roles, new cast members will also join in. So as of now, it is difficult to determine who plays the role of the former associate.

Movie Web states that the new cast members include Ruby Rose, Common, Riccardo Scamarcio and Peter Stormare. While Reeves will be back as John Wick, Common will play the primary villain in the movie.

The original John Wick movie was a sleeper hit of 2016. The Atlantic informs that the movie did decent business ad earned US $ 78 million worldwide. The plot was simple. The story followed retired hitman John Wick on a revenge mission. Movie Web notes that while John Wick: Chapter 2 is slowly becoming the most anticipated movie of 2017, it will face strong competition from the likes of “Fifty Shades Darker,” “The Mountain Between Us” and a few more.
