FOX is looking for their own shows focusing on artificial intelligence. The latest series being prepared by the network is called Girl 10. It is set to be produced by actress Jessica Alba and written by Gotham’s Ken Woodruff.
Two decades have passed since James Cameron launched Jessica Alba’s career in the science fiction series Dark Angel. That was the start of her stardom and this year, Alba is set to have a sci-fi comeback in the new FOX project.
In a report by The Hollywood Reporter, the series is said to bring a new vision of the future. According to sources, the network has handed out a script commitment with a penalty attached. As the producer, this puts pressure on Alba to get the wheels rolling for the upcoming series.
Girl 10 is set in the very near future and revolves around Elle, the lead character. Elle is said to be one of only 10 synthetic humans in existence. She is being investigated for murder while trying to stop an evil cabal from weaponizing the technology behind artificial intelligence.
Woodruff has the task of writing the script and will also be an executive producer beside Alba. The futuristic drama will be officially released under 20th Century Fox Television.
Alba was back on the big screen last month in Mechanic: Resurrection where she starred alongside Jason Statham. In her breakout series, Dark Angel, which aired two decades ago, Alba played the lead role as Max Guevara. The show ran for 43 episodes over two seasons. The series was directed by James Cameron and ended in 2002.
While being a producer is confirmed, there is still no news whether or not Alba also plans to have a role on Girl 10 herself. No definite production and release date has been announced.
