The people behind James Bond is already preparing for the charming spy’s 25th movie.
According to CinemaBlend, producer of the Bond series Gregg Wilson shared his thoughts when asked about the British spy’s next chapter during an auction of the Spectre memorabilia in London. He said, “We’ve just begun to doodle with ideas for the next movie. Each script process begins when we ask ourselves the question ‘What is the world afraid of now?’“
“In the case of Spectre, the theme was global monitoring and utilisation of information. So now we are trying to find out what will be relevant in the coming years,” he added.
The question certainly leads to more questions than answers as it is quite broad. What could be plaguing the world today may not be applicable in the near future. Nevertheless, it’s good to have something to start with rather than none at all.
Another matter that needs to be addressed is the slim possibility that Daniel Craig will reprise the role of James Bond. Mark Strong, friend and colleague of Craig, made mention that his friend is about done with the role. This he shared in a post made by IGN.
“I think he’s come to the end of his Bond time. Well, I will try, believe me, I will do my best. But there are powers at work greater than us who make all these decisions. He has been [wonderful] and he’s loved it. But I think he feels like he’s mined it. He’s done what he wants with it. That point has come.”
The latest actor to portray 007 also has this to say when asked about doing the part again:
“Now? I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists. No, not at the moment. Not at all. That’s fine. I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on,”
As to who will portray the next James Bond in the coming years still remains to be seen.
