Marvel has yet to announce the confirmation of rumors regarding the movie “Iron Man 4.” Though Marvel Studios announce three untitled movies due on 2020, fans are hoping that one of these films is the return of the genius, billionaire and playboy Tony Stark.

According to Crossmap, Robert Downey Jr’s contract with “Iron Man” ended in its 3rd movie, making it the source of all the humors coming out lately.

Robert Downey Jr. is negotiating his contract and would only do the project if the price is right. Others are claiming that Downey is asking for $100 million while others are saying that he’s asking for another $50 million on top of current rate making it $120 million. On the other hand, there is also a claim that Downey is not asking for a fixed price but a cut on the sales instead.

Many questions arise whether Marvel can pay Downey to do the role or not. But humors are coming out that if Downey doesn’t agree with the price Marvel will be forced to get Ty Simpkins to do the role, who is supposedly inheriting the suit from Stark. Ty Simpkins, 14, played Harley Keener, the boy who helped Tony Stark in Iron Man 3.

As mentioned in Parent Herald, if the film will be released in 2020, earliest time of shooting the film is 2018. By then, Simpkins is already 17.

Ty Simpkins also took part in movies like, “Revolutionary Road,” “Insidious” and “The Next Three Days.” But then, his role in Iron Man 3 gave him the nomination for Best Performance by a Younger Actor at the Saturn Awards. He is also set to appear in the “Jurassic World” movie.

If this will happen, it seems that Marvel is set to gamble and give their most lovable character to an actor who may not be well received and appreciated by the fans. Because for the fandom, Robert Downey Jr. is Tony Stark.
