Apple’s latest smartphone in the market is iPhone SE while Galaxy S7 is for Samsung. Both devices boast full-fledged specs and being high-end smartphones. So, we have pitted them against each other to know more about the devices.

Display, Build and Design

Since iPhone SE is the successor of iPhone 5S, it has just 4-inch IPS display and offers a screen resolution of 1136×640 pixels. Samsung Galaxy S7 has 5.1-inch AMOLED display with 2560×1440 pixel resolution.

Gizmag says that Apple iPhone SE offers a premium build with all-metal exterior while the Galaxy S7 has glass and metal build. At 113 grams, the 4-inch iPhone SE weighs lighter than the Galaxy S7 that weighs 152 g.

Samsung has included the always-on feature in its device but iPhone SE lacks it.

Processor, RAM, Storage

Performance-wise both of them offer smooth clutter-free performance. iPhone SE is powered by A9 chip which was seen in iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus and has 2 GB of RAM.. Samsung Galaxy S7 runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset clocked at 2.15 GHz coupled with 4 GB RAM.

iPhone SE’s entry-level device offers 16 GB of storage in the entry level model. Samsung has included 32 GB internal memory and can be expanded with a microSD card.


Both devices have terrific cameras. iPhone SE has  12 MP rear snapper and 1.2 MP camera at the front. Samsung Galaxy S7 has 12 MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera. Samsung device also as OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), notes GSM Arena.


iPhone SE is packed with 1, 642 mAh battery and Galaxy S7 has 3,000 mAh battery. Fast charging and wireless charging has been introduced with Samsung Galaxy S7.

Software and other features

Samsung Galaxy S7 runs on latest Android OS, for now the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. But iPhone SE runs on iOS9 and has a fingerprint sensor. Features like fingerprint sensor and water resistance are included in Galaxy S7.

Price and availability

iPhone SE is priced at $399 whereas Samsung Galaxy S7 costs $670. Both devices are reported to start shipping by the end of this month.
