Lately, there have been numerous leaks arriving with contradictory information on the iPhone 7, however, the latest one could be giving one of the clearest looks of the device yet.
The fresh batch comes straight from uSwitch and prolific leaker @Onleaks, Steve Hemmerstoffer from Nowwhereelse.fr. The leak sheds light on the current no headphone jack, yes-headphone jack conundrum. It appears that the iPhone lineup may be landing without the 3.5mm jack after all. The renders show that both variants depict the absence of the feature.
It can also be seen that the camera bump is akin to what is seen on the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, albeit without the metal ring. Furthermore, the dimensions in the renders also resemble its predecessor. As per the report on TechRadar, the dimensions for the iPhone read out to be 138.30 x 67.12 x 7.1mm and are 158.22 x 77.94 x 7.3mm for the iPhone 7 Plus. While the dimensions have also surfaced in the earlier reports, it does seem strange given that losing the 3.5mm jack was expected to deliver sleeker iPhones. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case.
The iPhone 7 Plus render confirms widely prevalent rumours that it is only the bigger variant to be landing with a dual camera in tow. The image of the phablet-sized model also reveals the presence of Smart Connector. It is owing to this feature that the larger model could be dubbed as the iPhone 7 Pro. The Connector, as seen on the iPad Pro allows from connecting external hardware to it. But it does seem a little unnecessary on a device smaller than the iPad Pro line. Only time will further unveil the mystery behind the similar thickness as the previous models and the presence of a Smart Connector.
