iPhone 7 Release Date, Specs & Price: Everything We Know So Far!

Apple has yet to officially announce when it will release the successor of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus but if history applies, it will most likely happen next month.

Know Your Mobile reported the next Apple iPhone will go on sale in the UK on September 25, according to a leaked email seen by Mobile News.

Aside from the release date, the tech giant has not revealed the official name of its next generation smartphone. This makes many speculate that it could be iPhone 6s or even iPhone 7.

Here are some of the features the next iPhone may have.

It will most likely look like the iPhone 6 based on the leaked photos obtained by 9to5Mac.

All “s” model iPhones  are almost the same with its non-“s” predecessors, Business Insider also noted.

However, 9to5Mac said although there are similarities in terms of exterior design, the next iPhone has numerous changes internally.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo agreed.

MacRumors said Kuo thinks there will be numerous improvements in the internal hardware and features of the next iPhone to the point that Apple may not include “s” in its name and call it iPhone 7 instead.

Business Insider noted that the previous “s” model of an iPhone comes with some performance improvements and few new features. This means a different interior hardware on the next iPhone could mean a new model name – possibly iPhone 7.

The iPhone 6s, or possibly iPhone 7, might be available in two sizes – 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches – same as the most current Apple smartphones, the Wall Street Journal wrote.

Bloomberg Business also reported that Apple has started the production of the new iPhone models with a feature called Force Touch.

MacRumors said Force Touch technology is different from the one used in the Apple Watch and 12-inch Retina MacBook. Instead of directly detecting the pressure applied by fingers, Force Touch will keep track on the area where a finger presses to determine how much pressure is being applied.

The upcoming iPhone may also run on iOS 9 which is already available in public beta version, Business Insider wrote.

It was previously reported that the next iPhone is expected to be a little more expensive than the current iPhone 6 Plus which is offered at $ 749.
