iPhone 7 Release Date & Specs: 5 Best New Improvements

iPhone 7

As the September 9 event draws near, the intensity of speculated news has taken a leap and this time around the iPhone 7 is expected to launch along with the iPad Pro, Apple TV and announcements of other products.

Here’s a list of the improvements and tweaks predicted for the new iPhone 7:

1. Durable and Lighter Casing

Learning a lesson from the Bendgate incident after the launch of the iPhone 6, Apple’s new device may come designed with the 7000 series aluminum, which is much lighter and more stronger and may just allow users to carry it around in their pockets without having to worry about it bending.

Besides opting for this studier material, the Cupertino company may also be offering the device in a shade of rose gold — as is seen on the Apple Watch.

In another report, 9to5Mac shared the possibility of the iPhone 5c being discontinued while the iPhone 5s, 6 and 6 Plus will continue to retail.

2. Shaper Camera, Faster Processor

It’s time that Apple bring in an upgrade to the existing camera on iPhones since even the iPhone 6 and 6s arrived with the 8MP camera, although with much upgraded features.

This time around fans may see a 12MP Camera with 5-element lenses embedded on the iPhone 7. If that does happen, it will be one of the key improvements on the device. However, it may definitely add to the cost.

9to5Mac also suggests support for 4k video on the phone.

3. Faster Processor

Last week a leaked video showcasing the internal components of the iPhone 7 was doing the rounds. It was noted that the upcoming iPhone may feature a tad bigger processor which could be the A9 chip. The upgraded processor could ensure an enhanced user experience on the device.

Additionally, Qualcomm’s WTR3925 radio frequency transceiver chip was also found in the device to offer better connectivity.

4. Force Touch

The same report showcasing the image as well as video leak of iPhone 7 hinted at Force Touch technology being incorporated, since the rear wasn’t screwed-in but rather was glued together on the model. It will be great to see how this feature is employed across the apps and other services on the phone to deliver a better user experience.

5. Siri

The September 9 invite had the statement “Hey Siri, give us a hint,” on it and when Siri is questioned about the same, she retorts with many smart-mouthed replies. Fans may see some definite upgrades to Siri and as reported by TechCrunch, a new device — a TV remote control to go with the new Apple TV may also be receiving the voice assistant, clearly indicating the company’s lean towards home automation.

The Apple event to be held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, may witness the launch of iPhone 7 on September 9. Fans can keep coming back for more updates on products by the Cupertino tech company.
