iPhone 6S vs. HTC 10: Apple Finds Strong Rival

Although HTC 10 is not yet available for purchase, but it surely is making a buzz in the smartphone market. With this device, HTC is expected to restore its lost glory.

So what makes HTC 10 a flagship device? So we have compared the device with Apple’s iPhone 6S.

Design and Display

Both HTC 10 and iPhone 6S share great designs but the Taiwanese company seems to win in the display quality. HTC 10 offers 5.2-inch display screen while iPhone 6S has a 4.7-inch screen, as per GSM Arena. This means larger screen offers better screen resolution, unlike the iPhone.

Hardware and software

Under the hood, the iPhone 6S is powered by a dual-core 64-bit A9 processor clocked at 1.85GHz speed and carries 2GB RAM. Whereas, HTC 10 has the quad-core 64-bit Snapdragon 820 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz, and chipset is paired with 4GB RAM. iPhone has low RAM when compared to HTC but offers a great performance- a noticeable difference between the HTC 10 and iPhone 6S.

HTC 10 has 32GB internal storage and the rumoured 64GB storage model will be available is the US. An added advantage is the external memory support. However, iPhone 6S lacks it. The handset is available in storage options such as 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB, notes Nashville Chatter Class.

BoomSound technology has been included in HTC 10 with some re-design. It is placed at the top of the phone right next to the earpiece and another down-facing one, similarly to that of the iPhone 6S’. The HTC 10 speaker offers better and clear sound as compared to the iPhone 6S.

The Taiwanese company has incorporated the fingerprint sensor its flagship device. It was last seen in HTC One A9.


A 12MP camera sensor is added on the rear side of both phones and a similar 5MP sensor for selfies. However, HTC has included the UltraPixel technology, which appears to be better than the iSight sensor of iPhone 6S. Optical image stabilization is also included in by the company in the 10, but this feature is found in iPhone 6S Plus. The image results clicked from HTC 10  has better quality in low lighting conditions than iPhone 6S.

Battery and Pricing

HTC 10 is packed with a massive battery of 3000mAh as compared to the 1715mAh that back the iPhone 6S. The Taiwanese company has infused Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology and iPhone 6S lacks it. As USB Type-C is used in the Android Smartphone for data transfer and charging, Apple included a lightening port in iPhone 6S.Both connectors are reversible.

The HTC 10 is up for preorders, with a price tag of  $906 (US$699). On the contrary, the iPhone 6S costs $841 (US$649 ).
