Apple has now given quite a compact solution to all those iPhone battery life woes by launching its own Smart Battery Case. The iPhone 6S Smart Battery Case has been creating headlines since it quietly made its way onto the company’s online store this month.

With the battery case strapped on the iPhone 6 or the iPhone 6S, users can enjoy up to 25 hours of talk time, 20 hours of video playback and added 18 hours of LTE usage, as noted by Digital Trends. Furthermore, users can charge the iPhone and the case at the same time. Once the Smart Battery Case is on, the iPhone Lock screen as well as the Notification Center will feature the “intelligent battery status” showing how much charge is left.

The case’s design has come under scrutiny with many Apple fans expressing their dislike for the “hump” on the case. Putting matters to rest, Apple CEO, Tim Cook told Mashable at the Hour of Code event, “I probably wouldn’t call it ‘the hump.’”

He questioned, “One of the real insights here is, have you ever used other cases and tried to get them on?” Commenting on why the design works, he shared, “If you make this solid all the way across,” he continued, referring to the space around the battery and the slight bulge, “you’d find it very difficult to get it on and off.”

When questioned about whether the arrival of the accessory indicates Apple acknowledging battery woes, to which Cook said that this isn’t meant for everyday use and is for those long camping trips where users would need that extra power.

The Smart Battery Case can be bought on the Apple online store for $99.00 in shades of white or “charcoal black.” Apple fans can head here to place their order for the iPhone 6s Smart Battery Case.
