This year tech aficionados witnessed the arrival of iPhone 6S Plus and Nexus 6P from the stables of Apple as well as Google and Huawei, respectively. The two phablet-sized devices were introduced amidst much fanfare and haven’t disappointed.
Apple recently recorded the sale of 13 million new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus models, just within three days of the launch.
As much as the Apple fandom opts for the iPhone 6S, the looming question remains, which one tops the other in all aspects?
Here’s a look at what each has to offer:
Design and Style
The design and aesthetics on any Apple device is always much-loved and this time around is no different. The iPhone 6S comes in sporting a 6.23-inch × 3.07-inch × 0.29-inch chassis, embedded with a 5.5-inch display. Here is where the Huawei device has a one up with a slightly larger 6.27-inch × 3.06-inch × 0.29-inch body and a 5.7-inch display. Even a bit larger screen space is welcome and that’s what Huawei brings-in.
The display resolutions on iPhone 6S Plus and Nexus 6P read out to be 1,080 × 1,920 pixels and 1,440 × 2,560 pixels, respectively. Even when it comes to the weight the 6S plus is slightly heavier at 192 grams when compared to the 6P’s 178 grams.
However as noted by Digital Trends, the difference in weight won’t even register when handling the phones.
As many may be aware, the bump on the Nexus 6P has been a topic of discussion on the web much before the device’s arrival. And as expected it does impact the overall look of the device to a certain extent. The bump houses the camera of the device, and there is no denying that the iPhone 6S Plus camera does protrude outside but it doesn’t mar the appearance as much. Also it helps when the phone comes dipped in pleasing shades such as the classic gold or the latest rose gold option.
Moving on to the snappers on both the devices, the Nexus 6P features a 12.3MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing one. As for the 6S Plus, the device houses a 12MP camera on the back and 5MP snapper on the front. While the Nexus 6P clearly wins in terms of the MPs, but the proof will be in the images.
As for the processors onboard, Nexus 6P offers choice between a quad-core Cortex-A53 or quad-core Cortex-A57 as per model. The Adreno 430 onboard for graphics is also a major plus and so is the 3GB RAM. All of this ensuring that the device is fast and powerful.
The Apple iPhone 6S Plus comes embedded with A9 processor and M9 chipset with 2GB RAM and also does deliver in terms of performance.
At the end, it all boils down to preference and also whether fans prefer the taste of Marshmallow or Apple’s latest OS.
