With just hours to go when the highly anticipated Apple event kicks off, more tidbits of information have been landing about the 9.7-inch iPad Pro which is expected to release at the conference.

Where earlier rumours hinted at the iPad Air 3 launch will be in the month of March, more recently it began to be widely accepted that the Cupertino tech giant will release a smaller iPad Pro instead.

According to a report by the Apple Insider, the upcoming 9.7-inch iPad Pro may house an A9X system-on-chip, four-speaker audio setup as well as the latest Smart Connector. Furthermore, the primary camera on this smaller iPad Pro may also come with a flash. What’s more? Speculations are rife that this variant will also extend support for the Apple Pencil.

As shared by Tech Radar, fans in Australia can expect the 9.7-inch iPad Pro to wear a $829 price tag for a 32GB variant. Apple loyalists can catch the “Let us loop you in” event at 10 a.m PDT on the company’s official website on March 21. With the price bump for the upcoming smaller iPad Pro with all its added features in comparison to the iPad Air 2 had lead to rumours that the tablet 16GB model may not be arriving at all.

Chances are Apple may keep the popular iPad Air 2 around just as it is going to keep the iPhone 5S alive. However while it has been reported that the 5S will undergo a price drop, once the iPhone SE hits stores; there is uncertainty surrounding what’s to happen to the iPad Air 2 price point. In most likelihood, it may witness a price slash as well but nothing can be said about any confirmation at this point in time. The event will also witness the launch of the iPhone 5SE or simply SE as well as the new Apple Watch bands.

Keep coming back for more coverage on what the tech giant will be bringing out for the world on the D-day.
