Another one of Dan Brown’s novels will find its way to the big screen soon. A new teaser for “Inferno” has just dropped. What does this upcoming movie have in store for the audience?
According to USA Today, actor Tom Hanks will return as Robert Langdon in “Inferno.” The teaser pegs Langdon as “humanity’s final hope.” The clip offers a few glimpses of the movie’s action. It also hints at Langdon’s main dilemma in the movie. “There’s a switch,” an unknown voice said. “If you throw it, half the people on Earth will die. But if you don’t, in a hundred years, the human race will be extinct.”
“Inferno” will be the third book of author Dan Brown to be adapted on film. According to the Screen Rant, it was “only a matter of time” for this to happen. The previous two films, “The Da Vinci Code” and “Angels and Demons” have grossed over US$1.24 billion (AU$1.69 billion ) worldwide. Screen Rant expects this upcoming film to “push the franchise closer to US$2 billion (AU$2.7 billion).
“Inferno” is the fourth book in Dan Brown’s series. The third one, “The Lost Symbol” was originally planned as the follow-up to “Angels and Demons.” However, the project was put on hold in favour of this upcoming film. Will producers still adapt “The Lost Symbol” after this? No word as of yet to confirm this. Stay tuned for updates.
What do you think Langdon will choose to do the switch? Do you think he will throw it and let people die? Or will he choose not to do anything and seal the fate of humanity? Fans will have to wait until the end of the year to find out. “Inferno” will hit the big screen on October 28th, 2016.
