Kolkata Knight Riders are up for a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore today. This comes after the two-time title holders suffered a defeat at the hands of Delhi Daredevils.
Knight Riders are currently placed in the third position with 8 points from 7 games with 4 wins and 3 losses. Royal Challengers Bangalore, on the other hand, is at the seventh position with only 2 wins from 6 games, according to Zee News.
KKR are not the only ones who suffered from a loss during their previous match. RCB also lost another game to Sunrisers Hyderabad on their game last Saturday, April 30.
Gautam Gambhir-led KKR team will be going back to Chinnaswamy stadium where they successfully bagged their second IPL title against the Kings XI Punjab.
Although KKR comes as visitors to the Bengaluru playing field, they are seen as the crowd favorites. Even with this, RCB is still looking to their home court advantage as a source of strength and inspiration.
So far, RCB’s lineup consists of batsmen like Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli, Shane Watson while KKR have some world class game changing bowlers like Sunil Narine, Morne Morkel, Piyush Chawla, Shakib Al Hasan and Andre Russell, according to a Cricket Country preview.
After a string of losses, Captain Kohli of RCB hopes for their fate to turn around and grab a badly needed win against KKR.
If Kolkata Knight Rider wins this match, it will put the team at the second spot on the points scoreboard.
This is the first time both teams will face each other in this tournament edition.
The Kolkata Knight Riders will be facing the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore today at 8:00PM IST.
