“Incredibles 2”, one of the much-awaited Disney Pixar films, was speculated to arrive on 2016, but as it turns out, this may not be the case.

Fans will have to wait for the year 2019, before their eyes will be treated to the “Incredibles” sequel.

The official Disney announcement revealed release date for 19 movies, which included the “Incredibles 2.” So, the official word is out and fans can mark the date in the calendar to be June 21, 2019, as shared on the Disney Blog.

It also seems quite right since it was only this month that “Incredibles 2” writer Brad Bird shared details on the script and gave fans a glimpse of what to expect.

Bird commented on the script and shared with Collider, “I have the story arc. I’m probably three-quarters through the script, first pass through the script, but we’re already boarding parts of it.”

“So we’re trying to keep it focused in the area that our film was, which was a little bit more about characters and relationships and stuff like that, and see where that takes us. But we’re having a good time,” he added.

Rumors are definitely doing the rounds with regards to the plot and characters on the second instalment of the popular movie.

As reported earlier, chances are that Jack-Jack and Edna Mode will take-on the role of the villains in the sequel. It will also be interesting to watch whether the Parr Family members including Bob, Helen, Dash, Violet and Jack-Jack have aged or retain their age as per “The Incredibles.”

This idea leads into two potential movie plots, one being with the “Incredibles 2” kicking-off right where the first movie left off, and second one includes a major time leap in the story.

The characters are bound to again be the centre of attention and be much appreciated, as Bird rightly shared with Cross Map, “I think that the greatest special effect is caring about a character. A lot of movies seem to forget that, and they bring out a lot of fireballs and then wonder why the fireballs don’t have that much impact, no matter how loud and how big they are. But the truth is that the fireball isn’t that exciting unless you care about the person running from it.”

Keep coming back for more updates and speculations on “Incredibles 2” plot and characters.
