iMac 2015 Specs & Price: 21-Inch 4K Display for $1,499; 5K Resolution for 27-Inch

The wait is over for Apple fans planning to purchase the newest iMac. On Tuesday, Apple launched an update to the iMac family and also unveiled the latest Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Trackpad 2.

This time around, the iMacs boast of higher resolutions and enhanced performance with inclusion of faster processors, as announced by Apple. The 21.5-inch iMac has been given the Retina 4K display with a resolution of 4096 x 2304, while the entire 27-inch iMac lineup has received Retina 5K screens boasting 14.7 million pixels.

On the inside, 21.5-inch iMac with Retina 4K display sports a fifth-generation Intel Core processor and upgraded Intel Iris Pro Graphics. Two Thunderbolt 2 ports are now onboard as well.

As for the 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display, there is a fifth-generation Intel Core processor under the hood. And of course there are the Two Thunderbolt 2 ports as well as the upgraded Intel Iris Pro Graphics. As noted by 9to5 Mac, it is only the 27-inch iMac which have been embedded with the new Skylake Intel chips.

The 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display has begun retailing today in US and is available in three models wearing a price tag of $1,799, $1,999 and $2,299.

The 21.5-inch iMac is also available in US starting today in three different models beginning at $1,099 and $1,299 and as for the one with Retina 4K display, the pricing starts at $1,499.

Both the iMacs will come bundled with the latest Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse 2, while the Magic Trackpad 2 is an optional accessory.
