Fans of Huawei anticipating the next offer from the tech company don’t have to wait long. Recent leaks revealed that the Huawei Mate 9 will boast some pretty neat and high-end specs.
According to a report from Phone Arena, leaks of the upcoming phone’s specs come straight out of China. Among the notable aspects of the rumored specs is the phone’s camera. The website reports that the Mate 9 will sport a dual 20 MP rear-facing camera.
Although the website takes the so-called leaks with a pinch of salt, it doesn’t dismiss it either. Phone Arena cites analyst Pan Jiutang who claimed on the camera specs earlier.
Huawei Mate 9 rumored specs and release date
Aside from the cameras, more specs of the Huawei Mate 9 have surfaced. We relay these rumors below, via different sources.
Aside from the claim on the dual cameras, Phone Arena also details that Jiutang also said the Mate 9 releases on December 2016. The phone’s predecessor, the Huawei Mate 8, released on November 2015. Hence, a year’s gap makes sense for the next device in the series.
Power and processor
Android Authority had this to say about the Mate 9’s potential capacity:
“According to the rumor, the Mate 9 will be the first smartphone powered by HiSilicon’s Kirin 960 processor. […] Unfortunately we don’t know anything official about this chip right now, although it will likely feature four Cortex-A73 cores and four lower power Cortex-A53s in a familiar big.LITTLE design. The chip is also expected to be manufactured on TSMC’s 16nm process, just like its predecessor, but the new CPU cores could allow for higher clock speeds.”
Storage and OS
Finally, GSM Arena details that the Mate 9 will carry Android 7.0 Nougat whereas the Kirin chipset will be accompanied by 6GB of RAM.
It is important to note, though that these are all just speculation for now. Stay tuned for more updates and rumors on the Huawei Mate 9.
