Huawei Honor V8 was introduced to the world in all of its metal glory, adding another option for devices to Android loyalists out there.

The smartphone sports a 5.7-inch display and comes powered by the high-end Kirin 950 processor with an octa-core CPU. Times News had earlier spotted more than one variant in the lineup and it can now be confirmed that buyers will indeed have the option to select between resolutions of FullHD and QHD. Here, both the variants are equipped with an IPS panels and are fitted with a 2.5D glass on top. Both the models feature 4GB RAM each. Those opting for the model with QHD display, enjoy 64GB of onboard storage while the FullHD version features 32GB internal storage. The smartphone is embedded with a 3,500mAh battery, with capabilities for fast charging and comes with the Marshmallow flavour.

As for the cameras, fans may recollect that a couple of weeks ago a leak revealed that the Honor V8 will land with a dual camera arrangement. And, the device indeed boasts of the feature but for anyone who had been hopeful, this one is without the Leica branding. Honor V8’s camera module is akin to the one seen on Huawei P9. The smartphone features the dual camera setup with each snapper being 12MP and possessing 6-element lenses with f/2.2 aperture and dual-LED flash as well as laser autofocus as noted by Fonearena. The back also features a fingerprint sensor and there is a dedicated key on the right for “intelligent voice actions .” The front panel sports an 8MP f/2.4 cam, again taking a leaf out of Huawei P9’s book.

The Huawei Honor V8 will be available in shades of Ceramic White, Platinum Silver, Rose Gold, Champagne gold, Ice Silver and Gray to choose from. The device is currently available for order in China and will be hitting stores on May 17.
