HTC One M8 can now be penned down in the list alongside those non-Nexus devices that have received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.

As reported by PhoneArena, Mo Versi, Vice President of Product Management HTC US, had announced over Twitter that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the unlocked HTC One M8 will soon become available. He also confirmed that the update for HTC One M9 will also be “coming soon.”

Since the company had already announced that both the devices – HTC One M8 and One M9 will be receiving the update at the “starting end of the year,” the OS rollout for the latter shouldn’t be far behind now. The latest OS is now available for download for the unlocked HTC One M8 in the US. And as is the case with One M8 users on different carriers, they may have to wait a tad bit longer to enjoy the Marshmallow treat. So, users with varied carriers in the US can expect to receive the update by early next year.

Fans in Europe have no reason to feel disappointed since the final Android 6.0 Marshmallow and Sense 7.0 upgrade for M8 should be released in about ‘2 weeks’ time, as shared by ROM developer @LlabTooFeR, who is often known to leak credible information in the past. The wait isn’t too long and looks like the users in Europe, will be receiving the update just in time for the holidays.

The company had revealed earlier that the following handsets are in line to be receiving the update: HTC One M9+, One E9+, One E9, One ME, One E8, One M8 Eye, Butterfly 3, Desire 826, Desire 820 as well as Desire 816. There is no word on when exactly will the latest OS be coming to these HTC handsets. HTC fandom can keep coming back for updates on the release of the OS for their handsets.
