During an appearance on Sunrise, the actress admitted that her feeling is “very mixed” as she prepares to say her goodbye to her beloved character, Ricky Sharpe, Mail Online reported.

“I have left now. But I’ve been very mixed, very sad to leave the family. It’s an incredible crew and cast,” Sveen said.

Sveen earlier confirmed that she was leaving Summer Bay after playing Ricky since April 2013. She broke the sad news on Instagram and shared a photo of herself on set with make-up artist Sherri Meissner.

“It is with a sad but proud heart I announce the end of my Home & Away journey. If someone had told me 10 years ago that I’d be playing a staunch, surfy chick in Summer Bay (and that it would bring me more joy than I could imagine) I wouldn’t have believed them,” she wrote in the caption.

The 27-year-old actress was joined by “Home and Away” co-star Kyle Pryor in her appearance on Sunrise. Sveen also talked about her new role as Layla in upcoming Channel Seven drama “The Secret Daughter.”  Sveen called the new project as “a huge step” in her career.

“I’m very fortunate and excited to be part of a new Seven production, ‘The Secret Daughter.’ I’m going to be playing Layla, Jess Mauboy’s character’s best friend,” the blonde beauty said.

“I’m really thrilled to have that musical challenge, and working with people who I really look up to. David Field is acting in it. I’m being directed by Leah Purcell. It’s a huge step, I feel, in my career to be alongside people that I look up to like that,” she added.

“Home and Away” airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel Seven, while “The Secret Daughter” is expected to premiere this year.
