Hayden Panettiere is officially going back to rehab to deal with her ongoing postpartum depression. This is the second time the “Nashville” star will be seeking treatment after the birth of her daughter in Dec. 2014.
“The postpartum depression I have been experiencing has impacted every aspect of my life,” Hayden Panettiere shared on Twitter. “Rather than stay stuck due to unhealthy coping mechanisms I have chosen to take (some) time to reflect holistically on my health and life. Wish me luck!”
Hayden Panettiere did not hide her motherhood troubles from the public and actually admitted she had been vocal about battling postpartum depression since becoming a first-time mom with fiance Wladimir Klitschko in December 2014.
People magazine reported that the 26-year-old actress’ character on Nashville is also battling the same disease on the show and she can certainly relate to her on-screen persona.
“I can very much relate,” she said during an appearance on Live! with Kelly and Michael, discussing her character Juliette Barnes’ own PPD journey.
“It’s something a lot of women experience. When [you’re told] about postpartum depression you think it’s ‘I feel negative feelings towards my child, I want to injure or hurt my child’ — I’ve never, ever had those feelings,” she shared.
Hayden Panettiere continued that, “Some women do. But you don’t realize how broad of a spectrum you can really experience that on. It’s something that needs to be talked about. Women need to know that they’re not alone, and that it does heal.”
But while the actress seemed to be doing much better after her release, Hayden Panettiere is now unexpectedly going back to rehab, as reported by E! News.
Hayden Panettiere made her first public appearance and statement in January at the Critic’s Choice Awards. And although she seemed to be doing much better, she’s obviously experienced a bit of a relapse.
