Harry Styles’ solo career to get a boost as Elton John offers to mentor 1D singer.
In an interview with The Daily Star, the music legend revealed, “I’ve seen Harry a few times who is great and I’m always on hand to offer him advice.”
John is well known for helping young music stars. Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, James Blake and Tom Odell are some of the stars he helped. John revealed he loved passing on his wisdom to the next generation.
“I’ve also taken Sam Smith, James Blake, Tom Odell for lunch and said if they ever need advice I’m here for them. Ed Sheeran always asks my advice,” he shared.
John also spoke about Zayn Malik.
“Zayn has done unbelievably well. I don’t really know Zayn as well as I know the other four but I think he has released a great pop song.”
In the interview, John also revealed he’s vowed to help Styles overtake Malik in the pop charts.
Styles is a well-known fan of Sir Elton John. In 2013, Sugarscape reported the 1D singer travelled by public transportation to watch John perform at the iTunes Festival held in Camden Town.
One Direction announced their indefinite hiatus during their last tour. Band members confirmed it was a break, not a break up.
News of Styles going solo emerged after the announcement. In December, it was revealed the 1D singer had written songs for himself.
For his 22nd birthday, Styles reportedly split from his long time management team. He signed up with CAA music manager Jeffrey Azoff.
Other 1D members are also working on a solo career. UnrealityTV reported Liam Payne is working with rap star Juicy J.
In January, Entertainment Weekly reported that Payne released a teaser of his first solo material.
UnrealityTV added Louis Tomlinson continues to write songs while spending time with son, Freddie Reign.
