Did Harry Styles’ advice to Fifth Harmony reveal his feelings for Zayn Malik’s One Direction exit?

In a sit-down with Entertainment Weekly, the American girl group shared the advice they once got from Styles. “I remember we were in rehearsals, and he came up to us and told us as a group, ‘All five of you should be on the same page and the closest things to each other because…there are gonna be people that are gonna come and try to snatch you. People are gonna try to break you guys apart,” Dinah-Jane Hansen told EW. “So as long as you five are your best friends, that’s the most important.'” The Fifth Harmony singer shared this anecdote as they denied break up rumours. Meanwhile, Hollywood Life speculates that his advice could mean Styles is still “feeling the burn” of Malik’s departure.

Malik earlier admitted that he has not kept in touch with his former bandmates since his exit. However, Styles and the other 1D members might have good reason to avoid Malik. Since he left, the now solo artist has said some pretty unflattering things about his ex- band’s music. In a sit-down with Mail Online, he said, their music was “generic as [expletive.]” There was never any room for me to experiment creatively in the band…That’s not music that I would listen to. Would you listen to One Direction, sat at a party with your girl? I wouldn’t,” he said.

Malik’s first single, “Pillowtalk,” made him the first British singer to debut at No. 1 in Billboard Hot 100. This is a feat One Direction has yet to achieve. Malik’s debut album, “Mind of Mine,” is set to hit record stores on March 25. The date also marks one year since he went solo.

Meanwhile, One Direction is currently on hiatus.
