The “Halo 5 Warzone Firefight” expansion is almost here and we rounded up all the things you need to know about this new development to the game.

According to Xbox Wire, “Halo 5 Warzone Firefight” is the biggest expansion yet to “Halo 5: Guardians“. It is therefore not surprising that the new content will be packed with all sorts of new content.

Release date

IGN reports that after almost a month of speculation, “Warzone Firefight” gets a June 29 official release date. A beta for the game held last April allowed for more improvements to the update. Since the game’s release last October, “Halo 5 Warzone Firefight” marks the eighth free content release for “Halo 5: Guardians”.

‘Halo 5 Warzone Firefight’ best features

Just like any update, “Halo 5 Warzone Firefight” offers a bunch of interesting stuff. As per Game Rant, “Halo 5” fans get a “never-before-seen” boss as well as a new vehicle.

The new boss is Grunt Goblin and Game Rant describes the character as follows:

“The Grunt Goblin is a new enemy type added to the Halo 5 sandbox, and has both Legendary and Mythic variants; it’s essentially a giant mech suit piloted by an Elite Grunt.”

If its description isn’t sinister enough, Game Rant elaborates that the Goblin Grunt is quite a challenge. The site says that the Goblin carries a double-barreled heavy needler and grenade launcher. It is also capable of targeting eight players in a single attack.

Meanwhile, Game Rant describes the new vehicle as “a new flying craft never before seen in the Halo universe.”

Finally, “Halo 5 Warzone Firefight” is free for everyone to play come June 29 until July 5. GameSpot reports that this relates to Microsoft’s Free Play Days promotion. If experiencing the new mode for free isn’t enough, the website reports that “Halo 5” is also getting a 50 percent discount.

Sounds like “Halo 5” fans are in for a treat.
