It came from the horse’s mouth. Blake Shelton admitted that Gwen Stefani might find him boring, in the fashion department at least. The country singer also shared that despite co-writing a song, they do not work together.
Miranda Lambert’s ex visited Live! With Kelly, as shared by E! News, where he acknowledged that her trendsetting girlfriend’s fashion flair is not rubbing off on him.
“And it’s probably so boring for her,” he said. “Because, literally, you know I’m going to have gray hair every day. I’m going to wear blue jean with boots.”
In another interview, he acknowledged that he and the Used to Love You singer could not be any more different. However, he also said that “it’s a lot of fun.”
“We could not be, on paper, any more different. I mean, I’m a country singer and she’s a ska, rock, pop, whatever it is…and it’s just an odd idea,” The Voice coach said.
“But man, it’s a lot of fun. I’ve gotta be honest about that.”
He then revealed that there was really no intention to co-write Go Ahead and Break My Heart since he started it just to impress Gavin Rossdale’s ex-wife. Blake Shelton then sent Gwen Stefani the half done music. However, the former No Doubt lead singer wrote the next verse and sent it back to him.
“And so it was like, oh, we’ve got a song together. That’s kind of cool.”
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have made their relationship public late last year. It began just a few months after his divorce from Miranda Lambert.
He said though that the Don’t Speak singer is the last person to have his back, according to Us Weekly. Blake Shelton added that Gwen Stefani is not someone he expected to “be there and be the shoulder and be the one to fight that fight with me, getting back on my feet.”
