A wedding ring worth US$1.2 million (approximately AU$1.7 million) failed to sway Gwen Stefani into accepting the marriage proposal by Blake Shelton, according to the new rumors.
A new report from Radar Online claimed that a breakup may be on the horizon for Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani as a result of the former No Doubt singer’s rejection of The Voice mentor’s proposal.
The alleged source claimed that Gwen Stefani was “very touched” by the marriage proposal, but she’s hesitant especially when she had just come off a divorce from Gavin Rossdale. The bottom line is that the pop star wants “to make sure it was right for the kids.”
The Spiderwebs singer has three sons with the former Bush frontman: Kingston, 10, Zuma, 7, and 2-year-old Apollo.
There’s also the fact that she’s seven years older than Blake Shelton and at 46 years old, she might not have another baby which might become an issue later on if and when the country singer will want a kid of his own.
Gwen Stefani’s divorce with Gavin Rossdale, which was far from being amicable, had just been finalized. Thus, it may be understandable that she rejected the marriage proposal from Blake Shelton if the report is true. Without the prenup in place, the 46-year-old singer had to give her former rocker husband about less than half of their properties, said People. He also gets the four houses they owned in Europe.
Blake Shelton, however, had no such problem with Miranda Lambert as their divorce procedures were smooth sailing. Nevertheless, it doesn’t mean there were no consequences since the coach of The Voice admitted to being in a very bad place after the split. “It’s amazing how quickly life can turn around for you. I’ve had some pretty cool things in recent times that have happened, and I’m loving it,” he said per People.
To date, neither the rep for both Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani has addressed this new rumor about the rejected marriage proposal.
