Fans of the Guilty Gear fighting game will be excited this time as the next chapter to the Xrd line up, titled Revelator will be arriving for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on June 7. But there is a special surprise for those who preorder the game, as a special demo will become available for those who preorder Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- that features some game modes to give fans a head start.

Gematsu first reported the news that was posted at the Askys Games blog about the preorder demo.

The special demo will be available on April 5 and will feature some game modes including Arcade, Training and Versus mode. The character roster will include all the cast from the original Guilty Gear Xrd game as well as the three new characters Jam, Johnny, and Jack-O. The preorder demo for Europe was not confirmed yet but it is expected to have a later release date.

Guilty Gear Xrd is the latest entry to the Guilty Gear franchise after its recent XX series way back in 2008. This is the first game from the franchise to have 3D characters and backgrounds, which was opposite to the original 2D sprite characters with fluid animations. However, the latest Xrd series features an art direction that shows anime-like visuals that are similar that from the recent 2D sprites from older Guilty Gear games. It is also developed in an Unreal 3 Engine and for the arcades. It is running on Sega’s RingEdge 2 Multi (ALL Net P-ras MULTI) arcade cabinets. The first from the Xrd series, -SIGN- was released last December 2014 in America and Japan and June 2015 in Europe.

Just like the original, Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- will feature cross-platform play between PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 and it will run at a smooth 60 frames per second.
