James Gunn is a tease, as he hinted at his plans for Nebula after Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
The franchise became a huge hit for Marvel back in 2014. Hence, everyone’s anticipation for its sequel Guardians of the Galaxy 2. No doubt, its director James Gunn is also excited for its premiere on May 5, 2017. Every so often, he would send out teasers to the delight of fans curious about what is in store for Star Lord and his team.
Spoilers early on hinted at Nebula’s presence in the sequel since she managed to escape. Although bigger proof of her part in the movie came in the latest concept art for it. A closer look at it showed her standing alongside her sister. Hence, it led to speculations she would now be part of the Star Lord’s team.
AceShowbiz recalled the earlier revelation of director James Gunn about Nebula’s role in the sequel. Apparently, it would further explore her relationship with her sister Gamora. Thus, it promises to be an interesting storyline given how they feel about each other.
“Because Zoe Saldana [Gamora] comes in and she is so wonderfully beautiful as her character. It’s touching. And Karen Gillan as Nebula comes in, and she’s her sister, and she’s completely a much deeper character than we got in the first movie, so we get to know her,” Gunn revealed back in September.
Gunn did not stop there. His latest thoughts about Nebula would suggest bigger things for the character. The director tweeted a mind-blowing response to a fan who said Nebula should have her own movie. Interestingly, Karen Gillan fully supports the idea.
Thus, could it lead to a solo movie for her? If Gunn had his way, it could happen. Yet does Gunn have enough influence to convince the authorities at Marvel to consider putting Nebula in a lead role? Will Guardians of the Galaxy 2 pave the way for her solo movie?
