“Guardians of the Galaxy 2” actor Peter Serafinowicz will be playing “The Tick” in the self-titled series reboot produced by Amazon.

Peter Serafinowicz, who took the role of Denarian Saal on the Marvel superhero film, is going to portray a new incarnation of this cult live-action comedy character, notes Deadline. The show is adapted from Ben Edlund‘s comic book character of the same title.

The show is about the “eponymous muscle-bound, antennae-sporting superhero” who is recovering from a memory loss but will later be joined by his sidekick Arthur (Griffin Newman) and his sister Dot (Valorie Curry).

“The Tick” is written and executively produced by Edlund himself in collaboration with Barry Josephson and its original studio, Sony Pictures TV. Meanwhile, after a long negotiation, “Transcendence” director Wally Pfister is finally directing the Amazon pilot.

The original TV series aired on Fox with Patrick Warburton as the main star. Despite its short life of only 9 episodes, it was still praised by critics and has been a cult favorite ever since. The official release date for the Amazon reboot is still unknown so stay tuned for more updates.

In other news, “Guardians of the Galaxy” continues to tease the fans as Chris Pratt recently announced that he will be picking lucky fans to join him on a movie tour. More than the mechanics, he had already revealed some of the biggest secrets of the production.

Pratt, who takes the role of Peter Quill akaStar Lord, almost spilled the beans about the film’s biggest twist: Star Lord’s real father, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. He was then stopped by director James Gunn and reminded him about the do’s and don’ts of spoiling the audience.

Pratt also revealed that the lucky winner will be having an iconic costume of their own made especially by the movie’s creative team (he says he can’t make any promises).

“Guardians of the Galaxy 2” will be out in theaters in May 2017.
