‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’ Shooting Delayed? Photos Reveal Surprise Cast Addition

The cast of “Guardians of Galaxy 2” may not have started shooting yet but it’s reassuring to know they have started their rehearsals already.

According to SlashFilm, the shooting for the upcoming sequel to the space adventure film is not delayed since the cast is busy rehearsing for their respective parts. As seen in a photo uploaded by the James Gunn, the writer-director is seen with Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Michael Rooker, Zoe Saldana and Sean Gunn practicing indoors in a basketball court.

Pratt, Bautista, Rooker and Saldana reprise their roles as Star-Lord Peter Quill, Drax, Yondu Udonta and Gamora respectively. Sean Gunn will also reprise his role as Kraglin, second in command to Yondu in the group called Ravagers. He is also seen as the temporary stand in for Bradley Cooper’s computer graphics generated character Rocket Raccoon. No stand in for Vin Diesel’s plant character Groot may be found but it’s certain the loveable tree is present in the sequel.

In the image, James Gunn shows them Bautista is “an example of good acting“ especially when someone is not up for the task during the rehearsals. As mentioned in ComingSoon, Gunn announced that they will start filming on Thursday, February 11.

There are also other cast members reprising their roles in the second part of the Guardians movie but are not present in the photo. Karen Gillan will play Nebula again while Benicio Del Tolo will return as The Collector.

Steve Agee, the comedian who plays as Outside Dave in New Girl, is also set to be joining the “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” cast but details remain unrevealed as of the moment. Fans might also recognize him from The Sarah Silverman Program as Steve Myron and seeing that he’s tall, it’s predicted that he’ll be playing a tall human or an alien.

“Guardians of the Galaxy 2” is expected to hit theatres on May 5, 2017.
