Gunn also confirmed during a Twitter question and answer that the roles of Star-Lord’s father and the main villain/s have been finalised.

Since the director mentioned that the cast has been selected, avid fans might wonder if Ego the Living Planet is included. Recently, it has been reported that Ego might be either one of the villains or a side character that fits the world of the “Guardians.”

Ego the Living Planet is a regular old planet that wants to rule other planets. Thor, the God of Thunder, put an end to Ego’s ambitions of conquest.

According to Geek, this character could fit in the galaxy that has weird characters like Groot and Rocket Racoon. However, Ego’s involvement in the upcoming film has not been confirmed yet.

Meanwhile, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn, Benicio del Toro and Pom Klementieff will return for the sequel. The voices of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel will also be back as Rocket Racoon and Groot, respectively.

In addition, directors Joe and Anthony Russo hinted on a crossover between the Guardians and Avengers.

“That is another one that we would have to reserve as a surprise,” Joe Russo told Comic Book.

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” premieres May 5, 2017.
