Grey’s Anatomy Season 13: Alex in Jail? Karev Attacks DeLuca

Grey’s Anatomy Season 13

Alex Karev’s career at the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital hangs in the balance in the upcoming Grey’s Anatomy Season 13.

In a Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 preview, Alex (Justin Chambers) was seen beating Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti). Alex targeted DeLuca because he believed his girlfriend Jo (Camilla Luddington) and DeLuca are hooking up.

Executive producer/director and recurring star Debbie Allen hinted that DeLuca might not pull through in this one. Allen said both Alex and DeLuca will be in trouble in the premiere episode of Season 13. She added Episode 1 would be really good and that viewers will crave for more. Allen also played Catherine Weber in the show.

Season 13 will focus on the original characters. The remaining original cast of the ABC long-running medical drama are Alex, Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.).  All characters in the previous season are coming back for Season 13 except Callie (Sara Ramirez).

The bond between Alex and Meredith will be tested this season, too. ABC released another teaser that suggests Meredith will help Alex to prevent her from being sent to jail.

Kelly McCreary (Maggie Pierce) hinted there will be conflict among doctors over the recent events at the hospital. She told TVGuide, “There’s a pretty intense fallout from that impulsive behavior from Karev… It causes some friction among the doctors. There’re definitely sides being taken.”

Meanwhile, Meredith will find new love in Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson). However, she will have a conflict with Maggie since the cardio doctor has already expressed her feelings for Nathan.

In this season, Jackson (Jesse Williams) and April (Sarah Drew) also become parents. Allen, who directed premiere episode entitled Undo, said episode one will make people wonder about a reunion between Jackson and April.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 returns on Thursday (Sept. 22) at 8 p.m. on ABC.
