There is no doubt that the fans of the popular drama series “Grey’s Anatomy” must have felt a great sense of loss when last season they bid adieu to lead character McDreamy played by Patrick Dempsey. Now, the show is moving on and is gearing up for the new season which will bring back all the fun seen in the previous seasons of the show.
Jason George, who portrays Dr. Ben Warren on “Grey’s Anatomy,” told People magazine that the series writers are looking at a fresh take for the upcoming season.
“They’ve hit reboot almost. There’s a lot of things that make it feel brand new, but it has that lightness and sense of humor that people fell in love with in the first place,” George said.
“And the sexy sexy is back on. There are a lot of people who are not in couples now and are falling into bed. Everyone’s getting a little bit of loving.”
Naturally, Dempsey will be missed both by his co-stars and fans alike, and the leading lady, Ellen Pompeo, shared a few words on this with The Hollywood Reporter.
“It feels a lot different. Every time we lose someone big — when we lost Sandra Oh — when we lose anybody — it’s a big shift. But a show that runs this long, you welcome those big changes,” the actress noted.
The post-McDreamy era on the show is bound to feature some interesting developments, with the show’s creator, Shonda Rhimes, sharing that the fun element will be the focus of the new episodes. Referring to the earlier seasons of the show, she told THR, “I missed the banter and the fun of that. I missed their quickness and lightness.”
Fans who were missing the fun and frolic too, are in for more drama with Meredith moving back to her mother’s house and having to live with sister-in-law Amelia and Maggie.
