“Gotham” seems to be not contended with just one Joker and they are getting another one.
Fox released a set of photos teasing the upcoming episode of “Gotham”, titled “Wrath of the Villains: This Ball of Mud and Meanness,” which features a new character wearing a familiar sinister smile, Movie Pilot reported.
“Orange Is The New Black” and “Tank Girl” actress Lori Petty will be taking the role of a mysterious character in the March 14 episode.
Gotham showrunner Bruno Heller has earlier teased that a female Joker was a definite possibility, Cinema Blend wrote.
Petty would be playing a character named Jeri, who is a mysterious and extroverted hostess of a club where the patrons are fans of art and murder. Jeri will reportedly help young Bruce Wayne investigate his parents’ murder but she does not feel quite so kind towards Jim Gordon and the GCPD, Cinema Blend reported.
Screen Rant noted that Petty’s character could be in some way link to the unknown “backstory” of The Joker, especially with the early images of the actress in eye-catching Joker-ish persona.
Cameron Monaghan first portrayed the supervillain character in TV series “Gotham.” He starred in four episodes before his sudden apparent demise.
Petty is set up to appear only in one episode, but if her version of the Joker is as successful as Monaghan’s, Cinema Blend said viewers may expect more episodes from her.
Dark Horizon shared the synopsis of the upcoming which “sees Alfred and Selina help Bruce on his quest to find his parents’ killer Matches Malone (Michael Bowen), while Hugo Strange (Wong) continues his treatment to reduce Penguin’s aggression.”
It was previously reported that other iconic villains like Mr Freeze, Clayface, Mad Hatter and Hugo Strange will become a part of the storyline in this season of “Gotham.”
