It is quite likely that the Google Nexus 2016 may land sooner than the expected date. Sudden discounts on Google Nexus smartphones in the markets sure point towards an August arrival.
As reported earlier, Daily Steals recently put a massive discount of US$160 (AU$216) on the Google Nexus 5X. Prior to that, tech aficionados were treated to a heavy discount on the Google Nexus 6P. Those still wanting to snag a Nexus 5X can head to the promotional page on Daily Steals since the offer stands for another day. Originally priced at US$429.99 (AU$580), the offering is now available for US$269.99 (AU$364). This indeed is one of the good deals out there on the Nexus device.
However, could this really mean that the Nexus 2016 smartphone is coming out sooner? While nothing can be said with absolute certainty on that front, details surrounding the device in question are indicating in that direction. As noted by International Business Times, rumors are rife that fans will again witness two Nexus devices being launched this year with HTC being roped in as the OEM. Reportedly, the Nexus 2016 devices by HTC are codenamed Marlin M1 and Sailfish S1.
As many will be expecting, the Google Nexus 2016 smartphone will be bringing the flavor of the upcoming Android N OS right out of the box. It is said that Google will roll out a total of five preview builds of the OS sweetness before making the final version available. Three developer previews of Android N have already been released. The next two are expected to arrive this month in June, followed by the other in July. This will lead up to the final version being introduced in August. And as is norm, the Google Nexus 2016 is also rumored to arrive in the same month.
