The Golden State Warriors will take on the Houston Rockets in their NBA playoffs game 2 at the Oracle Arena in Oakland on Monday, April 18, starting 10:30 pm ET.
The attention has shifted to Steph Curry’s ankle injury which has ruled him out from the game 2 against the Rockets. After his blistering 400 3-pointers this season, the Warriors have managed to record the best possible regular season outcome beating the Chicago Bulls’ record of 72-wins. As per the NBA reports, Curry’s absence would hurt the Warriors.
“Oh, yeah, for sure,” coach Steve Kerr said of Curry campaigning to play. “When Steph’s out, our guys understand that he’s not there to count on, so they have to execute. If they don’t, we’re just not going to score enough points.”
According to the SB Nation reports, the Warriors thumped the Rockets 104-78 in the first game.
First Game Highlights
“I just tried to change direction, missed the shot, and tried to get back on defence, and then slipped a little bit and felt it slip or tweak,” he said after the game.
Curry remained unavailable for further comments after Sunday night’s game. Reports stated that he was nursing the ankle injury right after the game.
Steph’s teammates were equally disappointed with the news. “You lose the MVP of the NBA it definitely changes your team,” Green said. “There’s some concern.”
“It’s part of the game, it’s playoffs. Emotions are going to be high and it’s going to get chippy out there,” Howard said. “I think we allowed it to get us a little frustrated. We’ve got to figure out a way to play through that.”
Stay tuned for more updates on Steph Curry’s injury.
