The original cast of Gilmore Girls has returned to Stars Hollow for a reboot of the hit TV show. Vanessa Marano, who will reprise her role as April Nardini, spilled the beans on her character’s storyline.
The Gilmore Girls reboot will be set in the present time, which is around eight years from where the series left off in 2007. According to the Daily Mail, the initial run of the revival is divided into four 90-minute episodes, each of which will be set in one season of a calendar year. The episodes are fittingly titled “Winter,” “Spring,” “Summer,” and “Fall.”
Variety caught up with Vanessa Marano at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards where the actress teased about her role in the Gilmore Girls reboot.
“April’s in college now, and she’s living the college life, so a lot of her life gets discussed at a dinner table with family members. I don’t know how much more I can say than that — it’s Gilmore family members,” Marano detailed.
Marano’s April Nardini is the daughter of Luke (Scott Patterson) who appeared in the seasons six and seven of Gilmore Girls. Many of the shows fans blamed her for Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Luke’s break-up.
In recently released photos of the upcoming episodes, Luke and Lorelai are holding hands. This is a tell-tale sign that they have rekindled their past romance. Perhaps the “discussion at the dinner table” Vanessa Marano hinted about involves Lorelai and Rory (Alexis Bledel) Gilmore.

Although no release date has been finalised, reports suggest the new episodes of Gilmore Girls will reportedly premiere on Netflix later this year.
