The “Ghostbusters” reboot had an extravagant premiere at the TCL Chinese Theater in Los Angeles on Saturday. Is it true the film will have a sequel?

The L.A. premiere dazzled with its decorations, along with fans who wore the famous “Ghostbusters” costume. The lead stars were also present at the event.

Producer Amy Pascal exclaims that the movie is so good people are going to demand a sequel, notes The Hollywood Reporter. “I have waited for this moment for a year! It’s going to be endless,” says Pascal.

Moreover, chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment’s motion picture group Tom Rothman cannot hide his excitement as well. He said that he is lucky to witness the reboot of one of the most popular 90s series.

The chairman also pointed out how they have taken the criticisms before they launched the reboot. Notably, film critics have different opinions about the motion picture.

They just want to let the viewers and the readers know that the film has its own comedic perspective. However, they made sure to bring back some nostalgic scenes from the original flick.

The new film stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. Meanwhile, the old one consists of Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and the late Harold Ramis.

On the other hand, the website asked McKinnon if she is ready for another round of “ghostbusting.” She said that she does not know, though she has not seen the movie yet.

Will there be a sequel? Let us find out soon.

In other news, Variety notes that the remake may have achieved its aim to bring back the old movie. However, the website stated that there is a lack of “own identity.”
