There is speculation about who killed Wes’ father, but latest spoilers for How to Get Away with Murder Season 3 suggest that Frank may not be as innocent as he seems.
Frank has already shown that he’s capable of murder so it won’t be much of a stretch to see him murder Wes’ father. He already escaped in order to avoid being meted justice for what he has done, not least of which causing the death of Annalise’s child.
In an interview with TVLine, Charlie Weber teased some spoilers for How to Get Away with Murder Season 3 as he said that Frank will still very much around.
“My mind, as Frank, goes certain places. But ultimately, Pete Nowalk is the only person who knows the truths about these things,” he said. “He seems to let things simmer before he puts pen to paper.”
In the same interview, he also supported the idea that maybe Frank was the one who shot Wes’ father because “it would certainly fit the story.”
“But again I have no idea who pulled that trigger — or why. Wallace was a powerful man with a lot of enemies, and Frank is certainly one of them,” he added.
Pete Nowalk, meanwhile, told Variety that the gunman’s identity may be known on the premiere episode of How to Get Away with Murder Season 3 or they will let it simmer for a bit before the big reveal.
The creator also said that Frank’s involvement in the murder is quite logical in the sense that it’s certainly one way to get in the good grace of Annalise. “It’s not a bad theory at all,” he said.
However, he quickly added that he has his own theory and will put that one up before his writers during brainstorming to see which would fit best in the story.
In another interview with TV.com, Nowalk teased even more spoilers for How to Get Away with Murder Season 3 as he said that he knows who killed Wallace, but that could change anytime if the other writers have a better idea. This makes Frank still in the clear.
