Game of Thrones season 7 rumors are on high given the long wait fans have to endure for its premiere. One of the recent ones points to another key character crossed off from Arya Stark’s list.
The character in question is none other than Cersei Lannister. The rumors started from the actress who plays Arya herself, Maisie Williams.
A report from Variety details that Williams spoke about who could be an interesting next kill. Accordingly, she named the reigning queen of Westeros. According to the source, the young actress had this to say about her character:
“It would be wonderful to work with one of the Starks again, but I just want her to see Melisandre or Cersei and not be dead at the end of it. To cross another big name off the list – but then I feel like people might come for me, because although everyone doesn’t like Cersei, we kind of love to hate her and I love to hate her. For the story it would be cool to meet either one of those and put a sword into them.”
True enough, fans of the show hate Cersei to the core, but it’s safe to assume it’s not the same hate as fans did with Walder Frey.
Notably, season 6 saw Arya finally cross Frey off her list in the most badass way possible. However, Arya needs an entirely different approach to kill Cersei. Unlike Walder Frey who wronged Arya by killing her loved ones, Cersei’s got a bigger price to pay.
Not only did the queen wrong the Starks, but the kingdom in general. She then deserves a grander end, if not more violent and full of suffering, for all the things she did.
Game of Thrones season 7 more rumors
Though Arya killing Cersei will sit well with some fans, others may not share the same sentiment.
Another contender to doing the honors is the Kingslayer himself, Jamie Lannister. A recent report from Nerdist discussed this potential.
The source relayed how Westerosi history tends to repeat itself and mimic almost the same events in the present timeline. In the show’s current state, Nerdist goes back to the Targaryen civil war which led Rhaenrya Targaryen to taking the Iron throne.
During this time, Nerdist relays the one-man shepherd who tried to convince everybody that dragons were evil beings. He then amassed an army, successfully overthrowing the time’s seat of power.
If this manifests in present-day Westeros, then Nerdist speculates that Jamie could very well kill her own sister/lover. Pretty twisted.
