“Game of Thrones” fans, good news! Another star has reportedly been confirmed to join the hit TV series. Australian actress Essie Davis will be joining Season 6 of the much awaited series.
Essie Davis is one of stars of 2014 horror film “The Badabook,” Entertainment Weekly revealed. She was also featured in two “Matrix” films and the Australian version of the mini-series “The Slap.” According to the site, Davis recently signed in for “GoT”.
EW also hinted that her role might be “Cersei Lannister,” one of the traveling theater group that plays “The Bloody Hand.” The troupe will be performing in Braavos.
“‘The Bloody Hand’ — a version of all the King’s Landing intrigue that’s gone down on the show since the series began (apparently, even in the wild continent of Essos, the Lannisters’ antics are considered pretty dramatic stuff),” the site wrote.
Essie Davis has yet to confirm her role for the next season.
Aside from Davis, other rumored Season 6 cast members include Max von Sydow as the Three-Eyed Raven, Ian McShane and Richard E. Grant- roles still unknown, Freddie Stroma as Dickon Tarly and Pilou Asbæk as Euron Greyjoy.
As for the storyline, Season 6 has been plagued with speculations that fan favorite, Jon Snow might return. But according to further reports, his character is dead, indeed. Another possible death that is expecting is of Balon Greyjoy.
Meanwhile, the highly acclaimed “Game of Thrones” series had dominated the Creative Arts Emmys held at Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday night, CNN reported.
The series received 8 awards, along with other HBO shows like “Bessie”, “Going Clear”, “The Jinx” and “Olive Kitteridge.” The network gained a total of 29 awards, topping NBC, with 11 awards.
