“Game of Thrones” fans have already seen the sweet Arya Stark, played by Maisie Williams, in her all grown-up avatar at the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards. Now, the much-loved star has taken the next step by filming a sex-scene.
While the update sends the signal that Willliams is now ready to take-on more mature roles and move ahead in her career, “GoT” followers don’t have to be confused since their beloved Arya Stark has no involvement in this case.
The 18-year-old actress did not film the intimate scenes for “Game of Thrones” but for the U.K. indie film “The Falling” wherein she plays the role of Lydia.
The actress revealed in an interview with Vulture, that the scene was “extremely awkward” since it was only her first-time shooting on such intimate level.
“It was extremely awkward! But [co-star] Joe [Cole] was very sensitive to the fact that I had never done a scene like this before, and it was great to work with someone who was so considerate of that,” the young actress revealed.
“We went out for a couple of lunches and stuff just to get to know each other, and we had days of rehearsal where we’d get to know our characters and spend a couple of hours with each other. So I knew him quite well, and we got along quite well. It all paid off in the end.”
Williams also shared a few anecdotes from the set of The Falling, which involved her co-star Maxine Peake being extremely closed off towards her. She later found out that Maxine was requested by the director to cut communications with her, since their on-screen characters weren’t supposed to be sharing a healthy relationship.
According to Vanity Fair, “The Falling” is set in an English all-girls boarding school in the 60s. The indie film is now available in the U.S. on Video on Demand.
