HBO will disclose Arya’s future on Sunday’s episode of “Game of Thrones” season 6, titled “No One”. The episode synopsis reads: “While Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) weighs his options, Cersei (Lena Headey) answers a request. Tyrion’s (Peter Dinklage) plans bear fruit. Arya (Maisie Williams) faces a new test.”
Tech Insider noted that Arya’s “new test” may be her struggle to survive the attack and her attempt to escape from the Waif for the second time.
It can be recalled that the previous episode of GOT left a major cliffhanger – Arya Stark has been stabbed. However, it seems that the young Stark is still alive. She was seen in the preview for episode 8 fleeing from the Waif.
How did Arya Stark survive?
Hitflix has several theories. One of which is Arya was not stabbed at all. The site noted that her mentor Jaqen H’ghar has a soft spot for Arya and he probably made the Waif believe that he killed her in order to save “A Girl.”
Another Hitflix’s theory is that Arya survived because of magic. Hitflix noted that in GOT, magic is always an option. The site wrote if Arya really sustained those stab wounds, then magic is the only option that could heal her to the point that she could be able to run through the streets of Braavos.
Time magazine also noted that many viewers believe Arya is still alive and they speculated that the attack on her was part of an elaborate plot planned by either Arya herself or Jaqen H’ghar.
Meanwhile, the teaser video also showed Cersei having a conflict with the Faith Militant, while Jaime and Brienne will be reunited in the Riverlands.
Tech Insider added that the synopsis of episode 8 mentioned Tyrion’s “plan bears fruit,” which could mean he will roll his PR campaign to convince the people of Meereen to fully support Daenerys’ claim to the kingdom.
“Game of Thrones” Season 6 episode 8 airs on Sunday (June 12) at HBO.
