“Game of Thrones” does have a reputation for nudity and violence. However, the sex scenes featured on the TV series weren’t at all intended for an adult website.

Producers of the popular HBO series have taken legal action against a popular porn site for using clips and images from the show, The Sun reported. Moreover, parodies on Pornhub feature pornstars who pretend to be characters from “Game of Thrones” portray Cersei and Lord Varys. Hence, the network wants these materials taken off the adult website.

“HBO is aware of the issue and is in the process of getting material taken down from Pornhub,” a spokesman for HBO told the publication. Although the show might “push the boundaries” with “racy onscreen encounters,” and regardless of Ian Mcshane’s description of GoT as a show of “tits and dragons,” the producers don’t want their actors included on the adult site, the New York Post revealed.

It would appear that actress Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen, is popular on Pornhub, Yibada reported. Although Clarke has great pride in doing her own nude scenes, its appearance on an adult site would have been the farthest from her mind. Other GoT actresses frequently searched on the adult site are Natalie Dormer, who plays Margaery Tyrell, and Sibel Kekilli, who plays Shae.

Non-related character searches include “sex scene,” “parody,” and “porn,” Mail Online revealed. The publication also cited statistics that showed a possible relation between the online porn viewership and the telecast of “Game of Thrones” season 6. A drop in the number of online viewers was noted an hour before the first episode of GoT premiered. The average viewership numbers resumed four hours afterwards.

Digital Spy revealed that six million people visited the site in search of material related to “Game of Thrones.” The searches for GoT-related videos and pictures increased their traffic by up to 370 percent on the same day.
